Why we keep going back.

There are no roads. You board at Mongla and live on the boat for three days, moving through channels that narrow until the branches touch overhead. Spotted deer at every bend, crocodiles on the mud, and — if the year is kind to you — one set of pugmarks on a bank at dawn.
