What the days actually look like.
Built for travellers who want the city and the sea without an internal flight. Bangkok on foot and by boat, then a two-and-a-half hour transfer to the Gulf coast and a ferry across.

Dhaka to Bangkok
Morning flight, arrive early afternoon. Transfer to the old city. Evening express boat up the Chao Phraya and dinner at a riverside shophouse.

Temples on foot, food at night
Grand Palace and Wat Pho before the heat. Free afternoon. Evening street-food walk through Bang Rak with a local guide — eight stops, all standing.

Ayutthaya by rail
Third-class train north to the old capital, bicycles at the other end, and the ruins mostly to yourself before the coaches arrive from the city. Back by early evening.

To the island
Road transfer to Ban Phe and the ferry across to Ko Samet. Check in, then nothing at all for the rest of the day.

Ko Samet
Free day. Longtail boat around the southern coves if you want it, or the same beach chair for eleven hours if you do not.

Morning ferry and transfer to Suvarnabhumi for the afternoon flight to Dhaka.
